Title: Zayn Malik
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this piece is I thought it would be a great piece to work with, something I could work with and the fact that I know who he is. I thought it wouldn't have been as tough as it was when I had began to draw.
The process I used was a grid . My piece was mapped out and i started drawing and shading . I used compressed paper to blend and used cotton balls to soften my shading

Title:Tree of beauty
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this piece is actual stuff that going on with me. I've lost a lot of (friends) but its okay i still have something wonderful to live with. You could lose something you thing is the best thing in your life; but it turns out it was something that didn't need to be found
I began my piece by sketching out the main things in the piece. I did a light wash over with the main colors in my background. I did my under painting using wet on wet and i added details after my painting was dry
Title: Lono Tiki God
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this sculpture was Tiki God Lono. The fact that she represented peace and fertility. I thought that it would be a good sculpture to mold especially, creating a belly to go onto the Tiki.
I started my process by creating four sketches to plan out the shape of my sculpture. Then I rolled clay into the shape of a tube and connected it to a base and mapped my designs. Clay was taken off and clay was added and tools were use to do further designs.
Title: Girl In Another world
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this piece was from me having a very broad imagination and wanting to visit space. Just think of all the things you would be able to do without gravity.
The process I used first was mapping my painting, I sketched my painting out and started to paint long broad strokes to create a background, I added details at the end to finalize my painting
Title: Artist Hand
Artist Statement:
My inspiration for this piece is hands even though I can't really draw hands I love to draw anyway and it inspired me to keep drawing. Just like the meaning of the picture it can inspire anyone to keep doing what they're doing.
The process i used was... just sketching the picture out in 4 different ways, practicing drawing my picture at least twice, Then i use a nib and ink to make my picture fuller. The ink and nib gave the picture value and contrast.
Title: Graduation Day
Artist Statement:
My piece involves a girl in a graduation gown holding a tassel with her eyes closed. The tassel has the number 19 on it. The title of my piece is graduation day. My piece is supposed to represent me when I graduate.
The media I chose was pencil. The reason why i chose pencil is because of the tassel. With just green and yellow on the tassel piece It draws more attention to it. So it appears closer to the front than all the details added.
The big idea behind my piece was to illustrate that I will be graduating in 2019. I inspired myself to do this piece because drawing myself would be a challenge. My piece expresses a personal issue and shows good emotions. Graduation day is an exciting time for students and parents both.
My goals for this piece was to challenge myself and try to do something new and original. This piece helped me reach my goal a little because I actually drew five of the same pictures just to get the perfect one.
overall, I learned that foreshortening is fun but it is not that easy. My final piece is still not what I was imagining but I know I could do better. This piece will influence my future pieces because I know I will be thinking about how many times I drew this picture to make it perfect
Title: Wilbur
Artist Statement:
My piece shows a pig on a fence, it is slightly zoomed to where you can only see his head and front legs. The pig has mud under his chin and a little mud on his front legs. There is also a spider in a web in the right lower corner.
I started my piece by mapping out a sketch, Then I redrew my sketch on to the final paper. I used oil pastels in layers to create the values on my piece. I used oil pastel techniques such as light pressure blend and heavy pressure blend to mix my pastels to the desired colors.
The big idea of my piece was to create "Charlotte's Web" Wilbur. The spider in the corner helps the idea of the pig being Wilbur. My work was inspired by the movie and I hope when viewers see my piece they get the feeling of happiness.
My goal for this piece was to practice using oil pastels and learn how to blend oil pastel colors. This project was pretty challenging being that oil pastels tend to be heavy in color. I feel like I haven't reached my goal but with more practice I know I can be successful in using oil pastels.
I Learned a lot about pastel blending and all the different types. Oil pastels are not for me but it was fun. My piece didn't really come out as I imagined it to, but its okay practice makes perfect . This piece will influence my future artworks by inspiring me to use different blending skills and just to use pastels themselves.
Title: Mother Nature
Artist Statement:
My piece consist of a pregnant woman with her head as flowers, Her legs are in a crossed position and she is sitting down. Her hands are holding her belly and her her belly is super big.
I created my piece by drawing out four sketches then I drew one large picture mapped out . I started with my background using acrylic paint then I added a skin tone to my piece before adding smaller details.
I was inspire by my chorus teacher to create this piece being that she is with child. my piece expresses a more personal issue. I tried to show a warm, touching emotion with this piece because it has to deal with pregnancy. pregnancy usually had a calm peace effect on people.
My goal as an artist is to convey artwork that makes them feel a certain type of way. It doesn't matter how the viewer feels as long as my artwork makes them feel an emotion. This piece helped me reach my goal a little because of the meaning.
Creating this piece I got to work a little more with acrylic paint , blending with acrylic paint and adding details with acrylic paint. The final piece is not what I intended but this will help me later on down the line when I am inspired to make another acrylic piece.
